Week Six- First Prototype Market

Image
Ruth Johnson: This week was our first practice market. It was really rough and thrown together and from it we got a lot of good feedback from the visitors that came to our stall. We realised we needed to really improve our decoration and stall atmosphere, so getting some red fabric and other thematic decorations to really create a more exciting and inviting tone. (We basically need to go ham with the colour red.) We also talked about how we need to really hone in on what we're trying to do with the writing on our paper. Wether this is going to be real casual or quite deep and personal. Would we need to create prompts for this? Or somehow emotionally prepare our customers so we aren't just throwing stuff on them which won't actually produce anything meaningful without some sort of preparation. We also thought it could be cool to experiment with different size cranes to create a bit of a challenge for the more adept customers we get. This is cause we had a couple instance...

Week Five- Final Decision on Our Market Offering

Image
Colour : RED Stephanie Howard: Meaning of red: the colour red represents enrgy, passion, action its energising and excited emotion. can symbolise love can describe food (maccas- lustful red draws you in) can be blood when researching this colour it covers a range of emotion from love to hate. we chose this colour as it allows the viewers to decide on whatever emotion they feel when looking at it. Flore: Following from last weeks discussion we are making a market that takes you though many emotions in relation to colour. as a group we chose red. The colour red is multiple emotions, for example it is either seen as love or hate, which are completely different emotions. Personally I am really thrilled we have the colour red because someones emotion to the colour red is extremely different to someone else's feelings towards that colour and I am intrigued to know if the audience has a happy or sad emotional feeling towards red. For our group market we chose origami cra...

Week Four- Organisational Model

Image
Flore: This week in class as an entire market we discussed and decided what each group whats to do and contribute to the market. We also with in our individual groups came up with concepts of a kind of organisation model for the market to follow. as a group we though hierarchy/ pyramid method would work well. The final outcome for how we would run this entire market, is to have a member from each group to step forward and meet with the other members from other groups that volunteered to also meet and discuss the how to continue with the market and how to keep following up with the next steps for this market. Week Three- Systems of Exchange and Market Stall Concepts/Research

Market Concepts: Flore: To work with a blank canvas and to have balloons filled with different coloured paints and to then have the people from the market pop the balloons with darks, this idea allowed the audience to create collaborated abstract painting. - This idea in relation to the entire market we would include an emotional aspect were the audience would write an emotion happier sad memory on the canvas behind or on the balloon and then would aim throwing there dart to hit there emotional memory. or We as a group would teach the people going through the market how to make origami. The people from the market would come and sit down and write or draw a memory (happy or sad) on the paper that we provide them before they learn how to fold it into a paper crane. - Making a paper crane is very frustrating and confusing at times but from this market we would offer them to learn a new skill and in return they contribute there paper cranes to the market as we would have them attac...
